The First Puff
Jade’s cannabis story starts young — 14 years old, sitting in her friend’s shed, hitting weed out of a Coca-Cola can. “Real backwoods energy,” she laughs. It didn’t change her life right away, but by the time she was 16, she was smoking regularly. Friends, partners, weekends — that was the spark that lit a longer journey.
Early Highs & Stoner Lessons
Not every smoke was smooth. The “craziest” moment Jade remembers? Hopping on roller coasters after smoking. “Zero out of ten. Don’t recommend,” she says, shaking her head. For her, the high works best in calm spaces — a park, a living room, a funny movie night. Cartoons are her comfort zone, but she’ll never forget watching Sausage Party in theaters while stoned. “The whole place was high. We were all just stunned.”
And like most of us, she had the classic Mac & Devin Go to High School moment. She couldn’t stop laughing. Her friends roasted her: “Look at Jade, she cheesin’.”
Snacks, Food & Chef Life
Ask Jade about munchies and the answer comes quick: chocolate. Dark chocolate, preferably with almonds, caramel, or pastries mixed in. Food-wise, she keeps it simple but versatile: chicken and rice. “Never not in the mood,” she grins.
As a chef, smoking even changes the work. The flavors hit different, the plating looks like art. “Chef gets mad, but I’m like, nah, this is art. Customers love it too.”
Blunts, Papers & Edibles
Jade’s a self-proclaimed blunt girl at heart — Backwoods especially. But lately she’s been trying to smoke more papers. “Shout out to Raw. I’m trying to be a better person.”
Edibles, though, are a whole different story. One night, she popped an edible before her boyfriend put on a scary movie. Bad idea. “My soul was leaving my body,” she remembers. “I’m crying, he’s looking at me like, what is wrong with you?” She can outsmoke most people, but edibles? “If I eat one, I’m in the couch. Game over.”
Favorite Smoke Time
Sundays. After brutal Saturday night shifts running 480+ covers in the kitchen, Jade finally clocks out, scrubs down her station, and heads out for that reward smoke. “I look forward to it all week. Saturday morning I wake up like, yep, I’m gonna get my ass kicked today. But tomorrow? I’m gonna smoke a fatty.”
Lessons from the Plant
Cannabis taught Jade patience. Between yoga in quarantine, hand-making pasta at her old job, and long nights on the line, smoking has kept her grounded. “If I’m not stressed, then everyone around me chills too. Weed made me better at that.”
Sweet Tooth & Side Effects
When it comes to desserts, ice cream wins every time. Chocolate, caramel, nuts — that’s her lane. But side effects? “I’m the poster child for cottonmouth,” she jokes. With edibles it’s even worse — gallons of water and still dry.
Final Puff
Jade closes it out with honesty: cannabis is safer than alcohol, opioids, and most of what people lean on. For her, it’s been growth, laughter, and creativity. And her advice if you’re gonna hit up a cannabis small business like The Hidden Creation? Be professional. No “yo bro” texts. Ask with respect, and you’ll get the same back.
